Niger is swept with poverty because there is a major educational gap and little trade skills beyond agriculture. Because the entire country has been over-farmed; the drought conditions come quickly and devastate the few crops left. The best recourse for young adults in Niger is to learn trade skills that are not dependant on agriculture until the land can be repaired for cultivation. To that end, we have established a computer training program.
The center operates to provide greater levels of education to people in Niger and to help them reach out to the rest of the world. For many in Niger, the prospect of solid education is slim, but this computer center gives people access to online courses and correspondence education which can give everyone a new chance to learn a career that can help alleviate the poverty in their own families, villages and eventually the entire region.
Our suggested donation toward this project is $150
