Ramadan Iftars

The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) has said, "He who provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast, will earn the same reward as the one who was observing the fast, without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.''
For a mere $2 per meal, The Zakat Foundation of America provides good hot food to people across the world. The iftar meals are provided in the United States, Pakistan, Palestine, Chechnya and over a dozen other countries. In most places the iftars are provided every day for the duration of Ramadan.

We invite our donors to contribute to Ramadan Iftars and share in the blessing of breaking a fellow Muslim’s fast as well as providing meals to people who live in developing nations and have a hard time finding a quality meal for this holy month. Over the last few years we have increased from 1,700 meals in 2002 to 251,500 in 2005.
Our challenge each year is to provide for more and more people globally each year and to make Ramadan an even more special event for both our beneficiaries and our donors! Keep this blessing in mind for your Ramadan as we challenge everyone to convert their unused soda, snack and coffee money throughout Ramadan into iftar meals for people across the globe.
