In southeastern Turkey, where 200 children are crammed into single classrooms there was a desperate need for better education facilities. The Zakat Foundation responded to this need in order to help the poor to gain real education.  In some villages where there are no local schools and children have to travel for long distances every day to get their education. To address this need we have established a school in Southeastern Turkey. This school will provide a complete education up to 8th grade level and will house several hundred students.

Once construction is complete in Spring of 2007, there will be a garden addition and classes will be ready to begin the 2007 school year!
